In Armeria comparison trials conducted at Walters Gardens, Inc., the Armeria Ballerina Series was a clear winner. This rose red seed selection turned in an excellent garden performance, blooming heaviest from mid through late spring and then sporadically reblooming through the summer months. False Sea Thrift often reblooms when deadheaded.
Compared to A. maritima, this species has broader evergreen leaves, stiffer flower stems, and larger 1” round flower clusters. The Ballerina Series includes compact, uniform varieties that are notably taller than ‘Bloodstone’, standing 12-14” in full bloom.
