Apart from having an awesome name that people will love, in our experience these new asters really do live up to their name.
Their habit is superb, forming a very full, bushy, relatively short mound of finely textured green foliage. From late summer through mid-fall, every inch of the foliage is completely covered in flowers, creating a huge splash of color that is so needed in the garden late in the season.
Due to their naturally compact habit, they are terrific in containers or near the front to middle of the border. They do not require any human intervention to maintain their neat habit and they have a long shelf life.
KICKIN® 'Carmine Red' produces magenta red flowers with a gold button center.
Asters are excellent cut flowers and attract butterflies. They make a terrific accent to fall blooming grasses and the changing colors of the trees. They are native to North America and are generally very easy to grow.
