Lavender violet flowers with cream keels makes this a stunning display for the early season garden. Its claim to fame is its unique vase-like habit. Although this plant is 3' wide, the base of the plant takes up a relatively small footprint, leaving space to under plant with other perennials. In comparison to other Baptisia in our trials, 'Violet Dusk' is relatively late to bloom-about the first week of June for us in Michigan.
Baptisia is easy to grow and will thrive with little maintenance. There are many potential applications in the landscape including meadow plantings, as a backdrop in borders, or as a specimen.
