Campsis radicans

Campsis radicans Trumpet Vine

Common Name: Trumpet Vine, Trumpet Creeper

The perfect flowering vine to cover areas quickly. If you have a wall, pole, fence, or large tree trunk you want covered fast, this is the plant for you. Trumpet vine is a deciduous, woody vine that climbs by means of ariel rootlets that act like suction cups. Though it may need some support when it is old and massive, it generally climbs on its own and is a very low-maintenance plant.

Trumpet vine sports mid-green leaves and rich orange-scarlet blooms from late summer thru early fall. These flowers appear in clusters of 4-12, each flower measuring about 3" long. They are trumpet-shaped and widely flared at the mouth. Hummingbirds adore their delicious nectar--this is one of their favorites.
