One of the first hybrids in the AUTUMN CRESCENDO™ Series. From Rika Bronsther, who also introduced Anenome x hybrida 'Party Dress' PP13844.

A welcome alternative to standard fall mums, these plants are bigger, better, and hardier. They bloom prolifically in loose sprays of single, daisy-like flowers which measure about 2.5 inches across. The blossoms are bright yellow when young, then fade to creamy yellow with pink tones when aged. They are excellent in fresh bouquets.

Chrysanthemums are easy-to-grow plants for the perennial border or containers. They combine well with other fall blooming perennials such as Aster 'Purple Dome' and Sedum 'Autumn Joy'. This selection tolerates a range of environmental conditions including dry soil. Its habit is tight and mounding.

Chrysanthemums are easy to grow in any well-drained soil and full sun. They can be fertilized up to 3 times during the growing season, and should be pinched back several times before the fourth of July to maintain a shorter, more compact habit. Pinching plants back too late will result in fewer flowers for fall display. Divide every 3 years to maintain vigor.

Fun Facts

Chrysanthemum flowers are edible, though they may taste a little bitter. They come in a wide range of colors which range from a peppery to pungent bitter flavor. Be sure you only eat the petals since the rest of the plant is not edible.
