Soft yellow blooms cover the compact mounds of bright green, threadleaf foliage from early thru late summer. Cutting this plant back by 1/3 to 1/2 after its first flush of flowers is finished will extend the bloom period into fall.
C. 'Creme Brulee' is a wonderful new hybrid of C. grandiflora x verticillata from Long Island, NY. It is similar to 'Moonbeam' but is more prolific, producing larger flowers and displaying improved mildew resistance. It is extremely vigorous: one plant can grow 16"-20" tall and 35" wide. It has overwintered in Michigan (zone 5).
Coreopsis is easy to grow, making it a good choice for beginners. One plant will provide you with long-lasting cut flower bouquets all summer long.
