First came Echinacea ‘All That Jazz’, a lavender pink selection with completely quilled petals. We loved everything about it from its consistently unique flowers to its bushy, vigorous habit.
'Passion Flute' is a yellow quilled form with the same terrific qualities as its sibling ‘All That Jazz’. Its pure light yellow flowers have very consistently fluted petals held horizontally out from the golden orange cone. The flowers expand as they age, maturing to an expansive 3 ½ - 4 ½” diameter.
Praised for their cheerful brightly colored flowers, coneflowers are a mainstay in today's garden. Be sure to leave some spent blooms on the plants in the fall because their seeds provide winter food for finches and other birds. The dried seed heads also provide architectural interest in the winter.
