Geranium pratense 'Midnight Reiter'
Common Name: Hardy Geranium, Cranesbill
Very dark purple, lacy leaves form relatively short, dense mounds of foliage and provide an ideal backdrop for the lovely nearly true blue flowers. If grown in partial shade, the leaves tend to be more of a dark green color with purple highlights. 'Midnight Reiter' combines especially well with grey foliage plants such as Stachys or Artemisia.
Hardy geraniums are wonderful filler plants for any landscape, either residential or commercial. They blend nicely with most other perennials and offer continuous color throughout the summer months.
