Iris 'Wine Festival'

Common Name: Tall Bearded Iris

‘Wine Festival’ is an example of a plicata Iris, or an Iris with stitched, stippled, or banded colors that contrast with the base color, usually yellow or white. In this instance, ‘Wine Festival’ has a white base color, with a rose violet band on its falls. The standards are a matching rose violet with gold beards. Very light fragrance. Reblooms to zone 6.

No garden would be complete without Tall Bearded Irises. Though they have been grown for decades, new and improved hybrids continue to be developed every year and fabulous color combinations have been achieved. The Tall Beardeds bloom after the Dwarf Irises but before the Japanese and Siberian Irises. They are wonderful accent plants for late spring gardens.
