Lysimachia punctata GOLDEN ALEXANDER ('Walgodalex' PP13547)

Common Name: Loosestrife

A variation of L. 'Alexander', this new variety has lime green leaves edged in deep, creamy yellow. It produces the same starry yellow flowers as the species, clustered in the leaf axils from early to late summer.

Lysimachia has an upright habit, though this species tends to be more compact. It also tends to be less invasive than other lysimachias.

This species is very easy to grow in either sun or part shade. When grown in moist soil, Lysimachia tends to spread quite rapidly, so be sure to give it lots of room to grow. To reduce or eliminate spreading, plant this variety in drier soil in part shade, or grow it in a root barrier. These make wonderful, long lasting cut flowers for cheerful bouquets.
