This robust and tough reseeding biennial makes a great filler for the middle to rear of the flower border. It forms a large, dense clump of broad hollyhock-like, rugose, green leaves on strong stalks and widens as it matures.
Beginning in early summer, large 2 ½”, bright lavender pink flowers with heavy grape purple veining and center are produced in the leaf axils up the stems.
This is a long blooming, heat and drought tolerant plant that grows quickly in any soil type. It is often grown as a biennial and reseeds if pollinated.
