Over the past five years that we’ve grown Penstemon PINACOLADA™ Violet Shades, we have been incredibly impressed with its extraordinary floridity and super long blooming capability. We are now privileged to offer an additional color in the series, Rose Red Shades.
Like its violet cousin, this one is also incredibly long blooming because of its very well-branched habit and secondary flower production. Soft red to rose red blossoms with a lighter pink throat are produced in clusters on short spikes above the deep green, leathery leaves from early summer through early fall.
The plants are very heat and drought tolerant so they work well in rock gardens, mailbox gardens, containers, and at the front of the border. Butterflies and hummingbirds adore their sweet nectar!
