Discovered by renowned plantsman Piet Oudolf in The Netherlands, ‘Madeline’ is an attractive bicolor selection with relatively large, showy blossoms.
Brilliant violet blue hooded flowers have a white lower lip that is edged in matching violet color. They are produced in whorls around the branched stems and hold up well under windy, rainy conditions. If plants are cut back after the first flush of flowers, they may rebloom.
This open pollinated seedling is characterized by its compact and upright habit, strong vigorous growth, and free flowering capacity.
This is a clump forming perennial with oblong leaves which are aromatic when crushed. Use it in containers, beds, and borders.
