Sedum 'T Rex'

Common Name: Autumn Stonecrop

Absolutely the most rigidly upright sedum we offer!  If you have had trouble with sedum opening up on you in the past, you’ve got to try ‘T Rex’.  In our trials, despite its height and the heavy weight of its large flower clusters, the plants remained tidy and compact all season and never opened up like some other varieties.

The green leaves had sharply toothed edges, adding to this plant’s appeal before it bloomed.  In late summer, clusters of greenish cream buds covered the entire clump, then opened to light rose pink flowers similar to its parent, ‘Autumn Joy’.  Move over AJ, there’s a new kid in town!

‘T Rex’ exhibits a greater resistance to stem rot than older cultivars such as 'Autumn Joy'.  It is a tremendous improvement!

Tall, upright sedums form substantial clumps of foliage which can be substituted for shrubs in the landscape. Their stout, sturdy stems support the massive flower heads which develop in summer and burst into bloom in fall. If left standing, they provide winter interest and food for birds.
